Attention! Fenster Components did not purchase, acquire or take over Craftline Windows! While we sympathize with your frustration, we hope you understand we have NO association with Craftline Windows and can not field warranty issues. With that said…

We want to help! With Craftline officially out of business, Fenster Components seeks to offer Craftline Windows’ former customers a solution to their failing windows. We currently have very few Craftline replications available and very little information on Craftline products in general. In order to best serve our customers, knowledge is our priority. We seek sample sash of any and all wood and wood/clad sash products produced from 1978 to 2010 in order to offer our customers a complete line of Craftline replications.

At this time, we do have replicated sash profiles and replacement sash for the ’80s-’90s era Craftline primed casement sash only. Complete assembled sashes are available for all primed units with clear or lowE glass. Knocked down “frame only” sashes are available for cladded units and primed units without glass. Unfortunately, replacement cladding is not available at this time, but we’re working on it!

We also put a call out to former salespeople and distributors that may still have catalogs or specs in their possession. In addition, we seek information relating to Craftline Windows’ component supply chain, specifically their cladding and weather stripping suppliers. Fenster wants to be your customer, not your competitor!

Fenster Components has been engineering replications of original sash profiles for most major brands since 1999.  Our catalog to date boasts over 60 casement and double-hung profiles and continues to grow with more nationwide customers seeking solutions to their rotting window issues.  Our goal is to connect qualified window professionals to homeowners who need help efficiently as possible.

We are looking for weather stripping for our Craftline casement windows. Can you help? We live in Grand Rapids, MI.

Sue, I can’t say with any certainty we even know what weatherstrip Craftline used on your particular model of window. We would need pictures, or better yet, a sample sent in so we can identify it.

I have craftline double hung windows. The top window doesn’t stay up but falls all the way down when the window is unlocked. What parts do I need to fix this and how can I find someone to fix it? I’m in Midland Michigan. The windows are in excellent shape otherwise.

Your windows may not be broken at all. The upper sash may not be engaged with the balance. You’ll have to tilt out the sash to see if the pins are seated in the balance terminals.

we recently bought a 1993 house in Grand Rapids MI and the double hung over the kitchen sink has a broken crank and darkened wood at the bottom, perhaps from not closing right. Not sure if I need to replace the entire window but thought I’d see what was out there under the name craft line before I hired another company to simply replace it with a wood window. Any suggestions who to contact?

Monika, These are typical issues that our products solve, however I don’t have a dealer yet in your area. If you were to locate a repair professional, we’d be happy to supply them with repair parts.

I am looking to find weather strips for the Craft-line windows that were installed in my house in 1975. These are vinyl strips that were stapled to the edge of the window and on the casement so that when the window was closed the strip on the window edge would interlock with the strip on the casement.. Would really appreciate any help I could get.

Don, The only weatherstrip we carry is what we use on our replications. You can find those listed on our website, https://fensterusa.com under the weathertrip and seals product tab.

I have 3 craft line windows that are sealed shut, does anyone know how I can get them to open again? One casement and 2 sliders.

    • Ryan Schwartz

Well Joe, sealed shut can mean a couple different things. They could be painted shut. Typically paint builds up against the weatherstrip. You have to crack the paint line by sliding a putty knife between the weatherstrip and the jamb of the window to break the paint. Or, they be caulked shut. You’d have to cut the caulk out around the sash frame. This will be a tough job and you’ll most likely damage the weatherstrip. FYI, we have several weatherstrip sizes and types available on our website at https://fenstersusa.com. Good luck!

I need to replace multiple seal failures in glass of Craftline casements from 1986. I have no problem getting the glass but was wondering if you have any idea of the thickness of glass they used then? It looks like 7/8″ to me and I’d like to know without cutting out a piece to measure…Thanks

      • Ryan Schwartz

Ron, I don’t know what model of window you have, so I couldn’t say. I’m guessing you don’t have a glass caliper? Who would…I’m kidding! Here’s how I tell people to measure glass thickness. Measure the over all thickness of the sash frame. Put a straight edge across the interior face and measure the gap to the glass. Do the same on the outside. Subtract these measurements from the over all. Example: Sash is 2″ thick. Inside gap is 3/4. Outside gap is 1/2. 2-3/4-1/2= 3/4″ glass.

We have double-hung, tilt-in wood windows manufactured by Craftline in Maumee, Oh., now out of business. They were installed in 1969. In good shape because we added storm windows, but they need new jambliners/balances. I received a positive msg. from your sales dept. but I remember your website of a year or two ago said the only Craftline parts available were for those manufactured after the early 70s, not sure if you can help us with our older ones. Thank you.

I really don’t know what you have. 1969 typically pre-dates a common vinyl compression jambliner we carry.

Ryan, our Craftline windows (1969) have jambliners with labels that say J W WINDOW COMPONENTS, INC. 7000/7500. Does this identification help? I have written that company in Merrill, Wi. but have not yet received a reponse. Thank you.

      • Ryan Schwartz

Geraldine, Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately my knowledge doesn’t date back that far. Your windows pre-date me in knowledge and birth. I wish I could be more help.

hello, I have a craftline door wall and the handle in broken. The door locking mechanism gos from the top of the door to the bottom of the door. I need to find someone to replace it. Can you help?

Our 1998 built house has all Craftline, mostly double hung, tilt in windows. A couple of them no longer close properly. It looks like the top half doesn’t fit properly in the frame so won’t go up all the way, thus the locking mechanism can’t engage. Maybe something is slightly warped? I know almost nothing about windows, but is this something that can typically be fixed? If so, who could do it? We’re in the Lansing, Michigan area.

    • Ryan Schwartz

Jeff, check out our balance replacement kits on our website. As long you have a compression type jambliner for tilt-in windows, ours should retro-fit in easily. https://fenstersusa.com. thanks!

Vitor, Are you looking for JELD-WEN parts? I’m not familiar with JW windows if they are something other than a JELD-WEN product. With that said, can you be more specific? Sashes, hardware, weatherstrip, etc. We won’t have anything newer than mid-2,000’s that was actually produced by JELD-WEN. Those models are too new for us and still covered under JELD-WEN warranty. However, if you have older Caradco, Pozzi, or Norco products bought out by JELD-WEN, then perhaps we can help.

Five different sizes will be needed. Any photos or more info you need, please let us know. Thank you. Keith at Zeeland Architectural Components. Phone 616.772.6000

Susan, We’ll need to know what brand and model of windows you have in order to build you the correct product. If you don’t have this information, my best recommendation is to submit some photos to our sales dept. and we’ll do our best to identify them for you. You can send those to sales@fensterusa.com.

John, Something like that is usually a carpenter fix. The brand of window is irrelevant. Most guys will just make parts on site to match.

Our Craftline circa 199? hinged patio door-the side that opens French door style-seems to be warped. It is aluminum clad outside and wood inside. We would like to just replace that side of the door if possible. Any ideas?

Sandra, That’s probably not going to happen. We don’t carry any Craftline door parts nor do I know anyone who does. You’re probably looking at a whole door replacement.

I purchased a house in the Grand Rapids area some time ago. Recently, one of my windows in my bedroom spontaneously imploded (there was a very loud noise when this happened). I have a whole row of windows (four total of which one is now broken) that are the same type. Examining the broken window I see that it’s a Craftline.

I have other windows that have broken, too, and based on the nature of the damage, I can only assume that these broke under similar conditions.

What steps to take from here?

    • Ryan Schwartz

Laszlo, Glass is not brand specific. A local residential glass company can replace the glass unit for you. It does not have to be a Craftline product.

    • Ryan Schwartz

Hi Peter, We had a lot of issues with Craftline in the past. There’s a lot of inconsistency across their product lines. We had a hard time nailing down what was what. It’s not a brand we want to pursue at this time. We would have to approach it as a one-off custom job for you. There would be some set up charges and you would want to have several made, like 10+ to make the project cost effective.
